Willie George Brooks was born on July 25, 1942 to Willie Butler Brooks and Hazel Smith Brooks but he was reared by stepmother Rosalyn Brooks. They both were wonderful mothers whom he loved dearly. He was educated in the Public Schools of Bibb County, Georgia. He graduated with honors  from Ballard Hudson High School where he excelled in many areas. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army valiantly serving in the Vietnam War.
