In Loving Memory
Ronald Eugene Hall was born on July 17, 1950, in
Savannah, Georgia to the late Mr. Willie Hall & Mrs. Lillie
Lewis Hall. He was the seventh born of eight children, four
of whom preceded him in death (Willie Hall, Julius Hall,
Reverend Julian Hall and Evangelist Lorraine Hall
Armstrong). Ronald, affectionately known as Rock, Rock
Daddy and Magic was educated in the Plattsburgh New
York School District, Miami Dade County School District
and the School District of Philadelphia. After losing his
mother at a young age, he was raised not only by his father
Willie Hall but also by his oldest sister Willie Mae and her
husband Joseph Heywood who was in the United States Air
Force.
In addition to Willie Mae and Joseph Heywood’s four
natural-born children, the couple helped raise Willie Mae’s
three younger siblings (Lorraine, Ronald, and Clara).
Beginning in the early 1970s, Lorraine, Ronald and Clara
started their own families in the southwest section of
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
While living in Philadelphia Ronald was close with his
sisters Lorraine and Clara. They spent holidays and other
celebrations together. They supported each other in various
endeavors. For example, both Ronald and Clara once
worked as managers of an apartment complex located in
Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Additionally, Ronald and Clara
lived in the same apartment building during the mid to late
1970s.
During Ronald’s tenure in Philadelphia, he met and fell in
love with Pauline Taylor. As a result of their loving
relationship, Lillyan Hall was born. In the late 1970s,
Ronald moved back to the Dade & Broward County Florida
area where he remained for the rest of his adult life. While
in Florida he worked in the railroad and welding industries.
All of Ronald’s siblings lived in Florida during the 1970s
and 1980s except Lorraine, who remained in Philadelphia
PA until her death in 1992. Ronald enjoyed visiting and
fellowshipping with his sisters & brothers: Willie Mae,
Victoria, Lorraine, Clara, Willie, Julius, and Julian.
