The Beautiful Life, Love and Journey of Maude Deleveaux Bennerson
began on December 13, 1934, in Miami, Florida.
Maude was the third of five children born to the late Elkin & Olive
Nottage Deleveaux. She was preceded in death by her brothers
Wendell and Benjamin.
Armed with an inquiring mind, Maude began her education at Booker
T. Washington Sr. High School, and later served her country in the U.S.
Amy. Upon her separation from the military, she became employed at
AT&T, formerly known as Southem Bell for 27 years. She was a very
hard-working, kindhearted and outspoken person.
On March 25, 1958, she met and married the love of her life Lorenzo
Bennerson Sr. They remained married until his passing on January 6,
2004. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and
friend, and was considered to be one of the caring and loving Elders of
her Brownsville Neighborhood.
In 2006, with her daughter Christena and grandchildren, she relocated
to Atlanta, Georgia. Maude attended and became affiliated with the
Voices of Faith congregation, where she was baptized under the
leadership of Bishop Gary Hawkins Sr. She never stopped enjoying
herself by attending various outside events, family gatherings and
listening to music; especially Fats Domino and Johnny Ace.
Throughout her many years of sickness, she never complained.
Maude’s life came to a close on August 9th, 2021, as she passed away
peacefully with her daughter Christena at her bedside.
God in His infinite wisdom and power, summoned her to rest in her
