I was born February 19, 1931, to the late Willie Bobo and Corrine Bobo in Arkabutla,
Mississippi. I’ve professed Christ at an early age and joined Bluff Road Church of Christ.

In Arkabutla, I met my late and beloved husband, Levi Washington of 42 years. To this union,
10 children were born.

Earth’s Final Glance
In June of 1964, my late husband Levi and I moved my 9 children to Miami, Florida on a
Greyhound bus. Then my youngest baby was conceived in 1965. I became a member of
Liberty City Church of Christ where I was a faithful and devoted member under Pastor
Thompson and then Pastor Wyche. If you knew me, then you knew I didn’t play when it
came to church. Every Sunday I put on my Sunday’s best with my big hats to match. If you
were fortunate to spend time with me, you’ll know I was loved by so many.

Old Testament and New Testament
I became a member of the voter’s council of North Miami Beach for 20 years where I served
in my neighborhood with the late Hazel Crawford. During the voters council, I marched and
protested at City Hall to get Washington Park Center and Hazel Crawford Daycare Center. I
then became a faithful member of ceramic classes every Tuesday and Thursday where I
created arts and crafts. I also fought to have street lights in my community, Washington Park.
I was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to my family. I was very passionate when I

Unfortunately, May 8, 2021, my dear Lord called for me to come home to pluck his beautiful
rose from his earthly garden. I leave to mourn six beautiful daughters Vieonna Bolden,
Melvin Washington McNair, Patricia A. Andrews, Aurelia Ford, Levette Washington, and my
baby Sharon L. Jordan. My son-in-law Anthony Contino. I’m preceded in death by my

Wallace Ford and George McNair. Preceded in death by my sisters, Cassie Burks, Vellar
Veazy, Mary L. Milam, Willie B. Bobo, my brother’s, Earl Bobo, James Bobo, Shad Allen,
Bill Allen, and my twin, Tom Bobo. I leave behind 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren,
and 11 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews, and sorrowing
