Melvin and Florence Johnson on May 7, 1957, in Miami,
Florida. He was one of 7 children. He received a formal
education through the Dade County Public School district
and entered the workforce as a painter until he retired.
On June 14, 1986, he was united in holy matrimony to Ann
Marie Gallimore who proceeded him in death in 1997. He
then relocated to Valdosta, Georgia where he remained until
he succumbed to illness.
“Buck” as he was affectionately called, was the life of the
party. He was always known to have a joke or two and could
always be heard saying his coined phrase, “Watch it, watch
Clementa was proceeded in death by his brothers Richard
Johnson and Melvin Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his children: Clementa Jr., Elizabeth
Green (Kamisha), Ashley Gallimore (Denise) and stepdaughter
Lillian “Bell” Ford. His grandchildren: Shamonē, Vaughn,
Kamryn, Clementa III, Ashari, and Karsyn; great grandson,
Javyeion. Three sisters: Phyllis Johnson, Gail Thurman, and
Tammy Rolle, one brother Michael Sterling (Rena) and his
best friend Jhonnie Henry. He also leaves a host of nieces
and nephews, extended family, and friends.
