We're the right choice at the right time.

Who we are.

The Memorial Times is the world’s digital obituary resource. A free public service platform that shares death notices, photographs and service details for recently departed individuals as well as maintains archived obituary information, The Memorial Times is a simple, effective and sustainable way for families and friends to connect, communicate and support one another when mourning a loved one.

The platform is available across countries and languages, making it a truly global obituary news source.

My Story

One morning in 2015 during my morning walk/meditation exercise routine, I asked my Spirit; “Give me a new business idea that every person on planet earth will have use for”.

My internal voice said, “Look to the left”. To my left was a cemetery, I replied “That’s not new!” I continued with my walk and meditated on the thought of “What new business could be related to a cemetery?” The idea of The Memorial Times was revealed to me. After writing a full business plan for this idea, I contacted the website designer that built my current website with the plan. He was unable to grasp the idea and build a functional website as my vision required. I didn’t give up! I Continued holding on to this idea and modified the business plan several times and three years later I tried again with another website designer. He too did not have the knowledge or team to construct a project of this magnitude. January 17, 2020, the Love of my life Pamela Yvette Freelain made her transition and one of the last things she said to me was “Finish The Memorial Times”. Two months after her transitioning, COVID-19 took over Planet Earth! This put everyone on immediate quarantine, and I remained at home on lock down. Pam’s last words began to bombard my every thinking moment to finish this project. COVID-19 made completing this project urgent! It became the opportunity I needed to fulfill the mission of what I asked for that morning five years prior. The Memorial Times purpose became “A mission to assist families and loved ones during this time of adjustment with a way to connect and participate in the traditional memorial services without jeopardizing health and safety.” The stars and the cosmos aligned and I connected with the right consultant and team of website designers who were able to see my vision and developed the website to specification. To Pamela Yvette Freelain I dedicate this website, for staying ever present in my thoughts to bring this project into reality. I ask that you visit her Obituary by Searching for “Pamela Yvette Freelain” and treasure her memory with me.

Your feelings matter.

WE WILL NEVER TAKE THAT FOR GRANTED.

The Advantage We Bring to Licensed Funeral Directors

Only licensed funeral directors (LFDs) can create entries on The Memorial Times platform, an income-generating service that LFDs can offer their clients. The “View Remains” and “View Memorial Service” entry options provide additional revenue streams.

With The Memorial Times, death notices are available for public view immediately, and any necessary amendments or additional information can be posted by LFDs at any time – which isn’t possible with traditional printed obituaries – creating a real-time, single source of information for the bereaved and mourners.

A prominent entrustment of remains acknowledgement appears at the top of every entry posted, providing your contact information and promoting your services.

The Benefit We Provide to Your Clients

Each entry on The Memorial Times platform includes a full obituary; up to three photographs; entrustment of remains identification; memorial service date, time, location and other details; internment location and details; and repast/funeral reception information. A digital receiving book for visiting mourners will allow the grieving family to thank them for their support at a later date.

Mourners, in addition to relaying their sympathy in the digital receiving book, will be able to extend comfort and support to the bereaved by sending flowers, cards, telegrams, food, funds, gift cards or a stuffed animal using the provided local and national vendor services links on the page. They and the bereaved will also be given the option of creating a Facebook, Twitter or Instagram post from the entry page alerting their followers of the individual making their transition.

The End-User Experience

Mourners visiting The Memorial Times can search the obituaries of recently departed individuals by name, city, state or zip code. Access to The Memorial Times is a free public service provided to your loved one’s mourners.

Our Ease of Technology

The Memorial Times mobile application is easy to navigate and allows LFDs to upload obituary entries and accompanying photographs at commencement of service.

A Platform for Our Times

The current global pandemic and attendant social distancing measures have amplified the grief of those in mourning who are unable to gather and say good-bye to departed loved ones. The “View Remains” and “View Memorial Service” options on The Memorial Times platform allows LFDs to provide clients a measure of closure, and themselves additional income-generating services. Post pandemic, these platform options will accommodate those unable to pay their respects in person because of time, distance or other obstacles.

How to Get Started

Click the Log In/LFD tab at the top of the screen. After you submit your registration you’ll receive confirmation of receipt via email; your acceptance and account number will follow. Then simply log in with your provided credentials to create and upload an entry to the platform.
